Tour de l'Alberta 20 km Route The inaugural 20 km Tour de l'Alberta route occurred in 2009 with 20 riders, and beginning cyclists and family members have been enjoying this option since. The Tour de l'Alberta is for everyone. With the addition of the 20 km route, the Tour can be completed by anyone up for the challenge. This distance is for anyone who does not ride on a regular basis - that includes those who have not ridden in a year or two. This would also be a good distance for youth who have been riding for at least five years and would like to push themselves. Parents may also choose to ride with their children, and the 20 km route provides a little more challenge than the Kids Mini Tour but is not quite as daunting as the 50 km distance. The route will take you to some of the most scenic and quiet areas of Alberta. There will be one rest stop at the halfway point that will provide food and water to get you through the rest of your journey. The highlight of the route will be the hundreds of people at the finish line cheering you on as you complete your Tour. Stick around for your well deserved celebration meal and cheer on your fellow cyclists as they complete their own epic Tour. It is sure to be a day you will never forget! |
