Tour de l'Alberta 185 km Route

185 km is slightly longer than a Century Ride, the ultimate goal for many cyclists. To complete it, you need to prepare for months in advance but there's no better way to complete a challenge like this than with like-minded company. Crossing the finish line after months of training will be something you will never forget!

The route was changed quite dramatically in 2011 due to some road construction along the routes of previous years. Cyclists will experience both urban and rural environments now as they get to enjoy some of the scenery that St. Albert has to offer. The ride will still start and finish at the arena in Morinville but will skip the communities of Thorhild, Redwater, Gibbons and Bon Accord. Many cyclists really enjoyed the rest stop at the Westlock Museum and they will get to enjoy this stop again as a lunch stop this year. In addition, a favorite stop along the 100 km route in Legal will now be featured as part of your 185 km adventure, a stop in the new gazebo at Citadel Park. As you ride this route, you will experience a good portion of the French Corridor by visiting St. Albert, Morinville, and Legal. This route will reward you with many little surprises as you pass through and experience Alberta at its best.

Congratulations to the 290 riders who successfully achieved this significant milestone in 2011!
